About Pilar

Pilar Tuason is one of the country’s most respected and sought after Wedding, Portrait and Fashion Photographers. She photographed her first Wedding 11 years ago and has won many awards for her work. She also won the first Photographer of the Year in the 2003 with association Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines.

Desiring to improve her craft as a Wedding and Portrait photographer, Pilar studied Classical Portraiture and lighting from the legendary photographer, the late Monte Zucker (Pilar is the only Wedding photographer from the Philippines who has learned the Classical technique from Monte Zucker). As a Wedding Photographer, Pilar loves to photograph the wedding highlights as unobtrusive as possible and prefers to use available/ambient light and the best camera equipment for her to be able to “blend with the moment”.

While Pilar likes to capture those spontaneous moments that happen in a Wedding, she also makes sure that her Brides and Grooms are photographed in their absolute best. Infusing Fashion and Classical Portraiture sets her Bridal portraits apart from the rest.

As a Fashion/Advertising Photographer, Pilar has been photographing the Ad Campaigns for Penshoppe since 2009. She has also shot Advertising material for designers Jun Escario, Oliver Tolentino and Kristel Yulo,. Other clients include Wacoal, Beverly Hills 6750,Tru Bags, Armscor, Cotton Stuff, NBA Babies, Stoked Inc. and many other brands.

As a Portrait Photographer, Pilar loves to photograph her subjects in the studio as well as on location while at the same time being very particular about her lighting.

Pilar was Editor In Chief for the Philippines number one Photography Magazine, Digital Photagrapher Philippines. She is also Creative Director for Lonely Planet Philippines, Wedding Belle and Olive Magazine.

Pilar has also been recognized by the world’s largest camera company Canon as the first Female Brand Ambassador for the Philippines in 2010 up to current.

Pilar is also a PHOTTIX Philippine Master (Studio Lighting Equipment Ambassador) Pilar has also given and done many workshops for Studio Lighting, Portraiture and Wedding Photography.

Pilar also hosted a TV show called Digital Photo Plus on Studio 23. In her free time, Pilar enjoys traveling, shooting Fine Art, and Black and White. She also loves to hang out with her 2 sons, Nicky and Luis.
